Loogfels No. 101

The Loogfels Nos. 101 , popularly known as Nonnenbrunz called, is one in the list of monuments of Rheinland-Pfalz as a single monument registered Loogfels . Such rocks were provided with notches, for example with coats of arms or pictograms to mark a border .

Geographical location

The border rock is located in the Palatinate Forest on the Gemarkungs border between Deidesheim and Lindenberg (Pfalz) , about 600 meters northwest Lambrechter district Karl Smoke settlement . The stone is at an altitude of 443  m above sea level. NHN located at the upper end of the Dörrental, a little below an old path that is in poor condition. About 125 m further southwest there is another Loogfels, number 102 .

The Dreimark-Loogfels No. 101 once marked the border between Deidesheim , Grevenhausen , which belonged to the Speyer monastery , and Lindenberg ( Herrschaft Hirschhorn ); the border between Lindenberg and Lambrecht, to which Grevenhausen now belongs, runs a little further west today.
