Loogfels No. 102

The Loogfels no. 102 , also witnesses Stein called, is one in the list of monuments of Rheinland-Pfalz as a single monument registered Loogfels . Such rocks were provided with notches, for example with coats of arms or pictograms to mark a border .

Geographical location

The Loogfels no. 102 is located in the Palatinate Forest , where the Gemarkungs limits of Deidesheim , Lambrecht (Pfalz) and Lindenberg (Pfalz) converge, about 600 m northwest of the Lambrechter district Karl Smoke settlement . The stone lies at an altitude of 445  m above sea level. NHN on the Kreuzberg, right next to the old path, which is in poor condition. About 125 m further to the northeast is another Loogfels, which is popularly known as " Nonnenbrunz ".

Designations

The Loogfels was already mentioned in a border description from 1528; At that time there was a dispute between Deidesheim and Grevenhausen (today part of Lambrecht) over the course of the border. The bailiff of Lauterburg, Balthasar von Rosenberg, and Hans von Wachenheim, called Bohell, acted as mediators. The Kreuzberg on which the stone lies was then still called Schlangenberg.
