Lorenzo Gritti (born June 9, 1985 in Trescore Balneario , Bergamo province ) is an Italian grass skier . He is a three-time junior world champion and a member of the national grass ski team of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).

Career

After winning several top 10 results at the Junior World Championships in 2002 and 2003 , Gritti celebrated his first major successes at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Rettenbach , where he was among the top three in all competitions. In the giant slalom he won the gold medal in front of the two Austrians Peter Paukovits and Marc Zickbauer , in the super-G and in the combination he took silver and in the slalom he took third place at the same time as the Swiss Stefan Portmann . A year later he won two gold medals in slalom and in combination and bronze in giant slalom at the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Nové Město na Moravě .

In the general class, Gritti achieved a place among the fastest ten for the first time at the 2005 World Championships in Dizin with seventh place in the giant slalom. At the 2007 World Championships in Olešnice v Orlických horách , his best result was sixth place in the super combination. The Italian drove into the top 10 twice at the 2009 World Cup in Rettenbach. He was seventh in the super combined and tenth in the slalom. He did not take part in the 2011 World Cup.

In the World Cup , Gritti was among the top ten in numerous races. From 2003 to 2007 he was able to place four times among the top 15 in the overall ranking. The exception was the year 2006, in which the Italian had not contested any races. His best overall result so far is tenth in the 2005 season .
