Lothar Dupke (born March 28, 1951 in Wuppertal ; † April 4, 2013 in Delmenhorst ) was a German football player .
Career
The "real Wuppertal boy" Lothar Dupke moved in 1974 from his parent club ASV Wuppertal to their big neighbor Wuppertaler SV . With the WSV he appeared in the 1974/75 season in the Bundesliga . He made his debut on matchday 1 in a 4-1 home defeat against MSV Duisburg . In the rest of the season he made 32 more games and scored three goals, including the consolation goal in the 1: 3 against Bayern Munich . This made the attacking full-back the most frequently used player of the WSV this season, behind Franz Gerber and Gustav Jung the most successful goalscorer of his team and "one of the few bright spots in this year of relegation", which the WSV finished bottom of the table. For the next five years, Dupke was one of the core staff of the WSV in the second division until it finished last in the 1979/80 season. Then Dupke returned to ASV Wuppertal, who played in the Oberliga Nordrhein , where he was still active for a year.
Dupke then worked in the food retail sector, first in Haßlinghausen , later in Magdeburg and Delmenhorst . He died there in April 2013 at the age of 62.
