Lothar Foerster
Lothar Foerster (born August 21, 1865 in Kontopp , Province of Silesia , † July 5, 1939 in Sopot , Free City of Danzig ) was a German administrative lawyer.
Life and work
Lothar Foerster comes from a landowning family at Schloss Kontopp. One of his ancestors was the lawyer and politician Heinrich Graeff auf Kontopp.
After passing the state examination and subsequent legal traineeship, Foerster was employed as a lecturer in the Prussian Ministry of Finance from 1898. In 1906 he was promoted to ministerial director and deputy agent to the Federal Council . From January 8, 1910 to 1918, he acted as district president in West Prussian Danzig , then as Reich and Prussian State Commissioner he took over the transfer of the previously Prussian territory to the Free City of Danzig. As consul general , he was the diplomatic representative of the imperial government in Danzig from 1921-23 .
