Lothar Wehr
Lothar Wehr (born April 29, 1958 in Duisburg ) is a Roman Catholic priest and theologian . He is professor for the New Testament at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt .
Life
After the study of Catholic theology at the University of Bochum and at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich from 1976 to 1981, he was awarded in December 1981 the price of the Ruhr University in Bochum for the dissertation in the subject Old Testament with the subject of Ezekiel 18 - Form, tradition, editing .
1985 Wehr started with a thesis on the subject of “Medicines for Immortality. The Eucharist with Ignatius of Antioch and in the Gospel of John ”received his doctorate as Doctor theologiae at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. In 1987 he received the ordination and practiced from 1987 to 1989, a pastoral work as a chaplain in the parish of St. Joseph in Duisburg from.
He is a member of the Catholic student associations AV Silesia (Halle) zu Bochum and KDStV Rheno-Franconia Munich .
Scientific career
From 1989 Wehr was a research assistant (from 2005: senior assistant ) to Joachim Gnilka at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . During this time he completed his habilitation in 1995 with a thesis in the subject “New Testament” on the subject of “Peter and Paul - opponents and partners. The two apostles in the mirror of the New Testament, the Apostolic Fathers and earlier testimony to their veneration ”. After working as a private lecturer at the University of Munich, he represented the chair for New Testament exegesis at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg from 1998 to 1999 .
Since 1998 Wehr has been Professor of the New Testament at the Pontifical Philosophical-Theological University of Heiligenkreuz . From 2002 to 2006 he held the chair for "New Testament Science" at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg , until in 2006 he accepted the chair for New Testament Science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt .
