Lotta Blokker
Lotta Blokker (* 1980 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch sculptor.
Life
From 1999 Blokker studied classical sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art . Then she was given a teaching position at the academy. In 2006 she returned to Amsterdam and opened her own studio there. She is married and has three children.

In her works, Blokker orients herself to classical sculpture from the Italian Renaissance to Auguste Rodin , Camille Claudel and Käthe Kollwitz . Your work consists of four related groups.
The Hour of the Wolf
Made between 2009 and 2014. The title is borrowed from a film by the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman . It consists of ten life-size bronze sculptures.
Pietà
Created between 2006 and 2008. Consists of a group of five almost life-size bronze sculptures and depicts the human experience of loss based on the classic motif of the grieving Mother of God with the dead Christ in her lap.

This group of five bronze sculptures includes the work “Hommage à Käthe Kollwitz”, which is formally based on the work “Mother with Two Children” by Käthe Kollwitz (1937–1938).

- Bad Frankenhausen : On the square in front of the Panorama Museum, four statues from the group of works "I am here now", purchased in 2010.
- Roermond : in front of the Munsterkerk "Pas de deux" from the group "Pietá", a donation from the Renschdael Art Foundation 2010.
- Münster : In the Ev. Apostle Church "See me" from the group "Pieta". Acquired in 2017 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
- Barneveld : bronze monument "Three Generations of Moluccas in the Netherlands" (Dutch: Drie Generaties Molukkers ) (2018).
