The Lotus is a gaffelgetakelter saver with home port Rochester . The ship operated as "Sea Scout Ship 303" by Webster, New York of the Boy Scouts of America lies in Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario in Wayne County , New York .

history

The ship was designed by shipbuilding engineer William Hand Jr. in 1916 as a private yacht . This yacht was built in 1917 and completed and entered service in Rocky River , Ohio in 1918. At her baptism she was given the name Miss Gloucester . After the ship belonged to various private owners, it was bought by Ezra Hale and his partners in 1943. They changed the name to Lotus .

Ezra Hale and John Trahey donated the ship to the Otetiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 1971 as the Sea Explorer Ship (now Sea Scout Ship) 303.
