Lars Gunnar Martin Frändesjö (born July 18, 1971 in Gothenburg , Sweden ) is a Swedish handball trainer and official as well as a former handball player who was used on the left wing position .
Frändesjö started playing handball at the age of seven - initially for the Swedish clubs Kärra HF , HP Warta , IK Sävehof and Redbergslids IK . In the summer of 1998, the outside player joined the German Bundesliga club GWD Minden . After Frändesjö received a violent bump in the ribs in a Bundesliga match, his spleen had to be removed in February 1999 . In the summer of 2000, the right-hander moved to the French first division club Montpellier HB and returned to Germany after just one year, where he signed a contract with HSG Nordhorn . After Nordhorn could not meet his financial obligations, however, he joined his former club Redbergslids IK in September 2001.
Frändesjö ran for Redbergslids until 2005 and moved to IK Heim after contract disputes , with whom he signed a contract that ran until the end of the 2006/07 season. In January 2007 the Swede moved prematurely to the injury-ridden Danish first division club FC Copenhagen after IK Heim gave him clearance. He then signed a three-year contract with the Norwegian first division club Viking Håndball from Stavanger. In the 2008/09 season, however, he no longer took part in the game operation due to knee problems. On the advice of his doctor, he ended his career in November 2008.
Frändesjö coached the men's team from HF Kroppskultur from 2009 , which competed in the Allsvenskan . When Kroppskultur missed promotion to the Elitserien in 2011 , his contract was not extended. From 2015 to 2018 he coached both the men's team and the youth at SIF Håndball.
He has been the sporting director at SIF Håndball since May 1st, 2018.
