Lou is an American computer animated cartoon . The short film was directed by Dave Mullins and produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released together with the film Cars 3: Evolution on June 16, 2017. The film was nominated for an Oscar in 2018 for best animated short film .

The treasure trove in a kindergarten is home to Lou. This is a figure that consists of various unneeded objects. Every day Lou collects the things the children leave behind during recess. The next day the figure lays the things out on the playground so that the owners can find them again. One day a villain named JJ starts taking other children's toys and putting them in his backpack.
Lou observes this and starts to take the toys out of his backpack. However, JJ catches him doing it and follows Lou. During the chase, Lou sees a name tag on JJ's underwear that goes with a toy that is still in the lost and found box. This teddy bear belongs to JJ, but was taken away from him by another villain. JJ sees the bear, but does not get it back from Lou until Lou gives the figure back all the toys that were taken away.
JJ ends up taking a liking to returning the toys to the other kids, including the toys that make up Lou. Back at the lost and found box, JJ sees that his teddy bear is the last remaining toy in the box.
