Louis Cambecq

Louis Alexander Maria Cambecq (born January 6, 1796 in Dresden , † May 30, 1859 on the journey from Dorpat to Saint Petersburg ) was a German - Baltic lawyer and university professor .

Life

Louis Cambecq was born the son of the painter, drawing teacher and teacher of the French language Francois Louis Cambecq. From 1812 to 1815 he attended the Academia Petrina in Mitau. He then studied law at the University of Berlin from 1815 to 1816 and became a member of the Corps Curonia Berlin. From 1816 to 1818 he continued his studies at the Georg-August-Universitä and joined the Curonia Goettingensis V there in 1818 . After two years of House activities, he was in 1822 at the University of Königsberg Dr. jur. PhD. In the same year he completed his habilitation at the University of Dorpat . As a court attorney in Riga and later in Dorpat, he read as a private lecturer at Dorpater University until 1824. From 1824 to 1827 he was syndic and secretary of the magistrate, from 1827 to 1832 syndic of the council and from 1829 to 1832 councilor in Pernau . In 1836 he became bailiff in Dorpat and governorate schools director in Nizhny Novgorod . In 1838 he was appointed Professor-Adjunct of Law at the University of Kazan . After his departure in 1858 as associate professor , he lived in Riga.
