Louis Emden

Louis Emden (born January 8, 1813 in worries, Niederlausitz , † November 13, 1880 in Spandau ) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag .

Live and act

Louis Emden attended the public school in Spandau and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in Magdeburg, Berlin and Erfurt. From 1842 to 1876 he worked as a businessman in Spandau. From 1843 to 1853 he was a member of the Spandau magistrate. From 1866 he was head of the city council there. The Emdenzeile in Spandau, in the Neustadt district, is named after him.

During the 11th and 12th session, from 1870 to 1876, he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Potsdam 6 (Osthavelland). He belonged to the parliamentary group of the Progressive Party in the House of Representatives and in the German Reichstag. Louis Emden was a member of the Reichstag from 1871 to 1874 . The constituency of Potsdam 7 elected him there . He was a member of the German Progressive Party .
