Louis Mary Fink OSB (born July 12, 1834 in Triftersberg , Roding , † March 17, 1904 ) was Bishop of Leavenworth .

Life

Michael Fink from Triftersberg in Roding emigrated to America at the age of 18. He entered the Benedictine order and took the religious name Louis Mary. He made his profession on January 6, 1854 . On 28 May 1857 he received from Joshua Maria Young , the priesthood . In 1860 he became prior of St. Joseph's Convent in Chicago . In 1868 he took over the management of the Benedictine convent and college in Atchison (Kansas) , where one of the main buildings was named after him. On June 11, 1871 he received on behalf of Pope Pius IX. by Thomas Patrick Roger Foley , the episcopal ordination , co-consecrators were the bishops John Baptist Miège and Joseph Melcher , Bishop of Green Bay ( Wisconsin ). From 1871 to 1874 he was coadjutor and then until 1877 Vicar Apostolic of Kansas . In addition, he was titular bishop of Eucarpia from 1871 to 1877 . He was Bishop of Leavenworth from 1877 to 1904.
