Between 1944 and 1946 he was then an architect in Paris, then until 1949 architect of the Moroccan farmers' association. As early as 1948 he had settled in Algiers as a freelance architect. During these years Miquel took part in the Congrès International d'Architecture Moderne several times . In 1962 he went back to Paris and opened an architecture office there on Rue Beaurepaire.

In 1972 Miquel was director of the "Bâtiments Civils et Palais Nationaux", 1966 member of the board of directors of the "Fondation Le Corbusier", from 1968 to 1970 member of the "Conseil générale des Bâtiments de France", 1970 member of the "Commission nationale du 1%".
