Louis Nye
Louis Nye (born May 1, 1913 in Hartford , Connecticut , USA as Louis Neistat, † October 9, 2005 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American comedian and actor .
Nye was married to the pianist Anita Leonard from 1948 until his death and had a son ( Peter Nye , actor ). He starred in the films Alice in Wonderland (1985) and Inspector Gadget: Gadget's Greatest Gadgets (1999). He had one of his last roles on the sitcom Leave It, Larry! as the father of Jeff Greene, played by Jeff Garlin .
Nye died of lung cancer in 2005 at the age of 92 and was buried in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City , California .
