Jeff Garlin (born June 5, 1962 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor , screenwriter and director , whose role is primarily Jeff Green on the HBO show Let it, Larry! got known.

life and career

Jeff Garlin was in Chicago , the son of Jewish born parents. After high school he attended the University of Miami , which he later dropped out. Then he tried his hand at being a comedian on stage.

As an actor, Garlin has appeared on numerous television series including Arrested Development , Everybody Loves Raymond , Entourage and the Late Show with David Letterman . Well-known films in which he starred are The Kindergarten Daddy with Eddie Murphy , After the Sunset , Austin Powers - Spy in a secret missionary position and Full Frontal with Julia Roberts and David Duchovny .

In 2006 his first own film called I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With (which he directed and wrote the script) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival . Actresses Sarah Silverman and Bonnie Hunt also starred in this film .

In the same year he directed the documentary This Filthy World , in which the director John Waters is the central figure. In the animated film Wall-E he lent the character of Captain B. McCrea his voice.

In 2008 Garlin starred in the comedies The Rocker - Voll der (S) Hit , Strange Wilderness in supporting roles. In 2010, he voiced a character in Toy Story 3 . In the same year he also published a book called My Footprint: Carrying the Weight of the World .

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
