Louis Thomas

Christian Louis Thomas (born February 14, 1815 in Pegau ; died October 21, 1878 in Leipzig ) was a German educator , school director and author .

Life

After completing his training, Louis Thomas first became a teacher in Gottscheina in 1832 and in Möckern the following year . In 1853 he switched to the third citizen school in Leipzig and in 1855 to the fifth citizen school. From 1871 he was director of the Protestant free school in Leipzig. In 1852 he founded the “General Fire Insurance Company of Saxon Teachers”. He wrote numerous school textbooks and books for young people, some of which appeared in many editions. He died in Leipzig on October 21, 1878.
