Louise Attaque is a French band that has existed since 1994 . Her style ranges between chanson and folk rock . They developed from the school band Caravage, their first album "Louise Attaque" sold 2.5 million copies straight away. They sing in French .
history
Gaëtan Roussel and Robin Feix met at school in Montargis in the early 1990s . When the drummer Alexandre Margraff joined them shortly afterwards, they founded the band Caravage , named after the Italian painter Caravaggio . Her first recordings only sold in the immediate vicinity, but appearances in bars and festival halls soon followed. After the intermittent lead guitarist David left the band, they looked for a new member through an advertisement and found Arnaud Samuel, a violinist. In 1994 the four of them finally renamed themselves Louise Attaque in Paris . The name refers to Louise Michel , a 19th century anarchist, and the Violent Femmes , an American rock band. With the first album of the same name, the band, which was hardly known until then, made their breakthrough in 1997. The album was among the 50 most successful French albums of all time. A tour followed in 1998, which later also appeared on DVD. The second album, entitled "Comme on a dit", sold 700,000 copies in 2000 before Louise Attaque split up to pursue other projects.
Gaëtan Roussel and Arnaud Samuel formed the band Tarmac together, while Robin Feix and Alexandre Margraff founded Ali Dragon with others. A good five years after the release of "Comme on a dit", however, the four musicians got together again in autumn 2005 for their third album À plus tard crocodile (a literal translation of See you later, alligator , one of the jazz and blues genres -Music-derived expression), which was released on September 5, 2005 on the label Atmosphériques, which had already released the first two albums. Tours through India, South America and Russia followed.
