Louise Katharina Burgaard Madsen (born October 17, 1992 in Esbjerg ) is a Danish handball player .

Career

Louise Burgaard started playing handball at Vinding SF when she was five. In 2006 she moved to Fredericia HK 90. In 2010, the backcourt player signed a contract with KIF Vejen , with whom she took part in the EHF Cup in the 2010/11 season . In 2011 she joined Team Tvis Holstebro . In 2013 she won the EHF Cup with TTH. From the 2013/14 season she played at Viborg HK . With Viborg she won the 2014 European Cup Winners' Cup and the Danish championship. From the summer of 2015 she was under contract with FC Midtjylland Håndbold, which renamed itself Herning-Ikast Håndbold in 2018 . With Midtjylland she won the Danish Cup in 2015. She has been under contract with the French first division team Metz Handball since the 2019/20 season .

Burgaard has so far played 105 caps for the Danish national team , in which they scored 237 goals. With Denmark she finished 4th at the 2011 World Cup . In summer 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London . Her greatest success so far was winning the bronze medal at the 2013 World Cup , in which she scored a total of 25 goals in nine games.
