Louise Jameson (born April 20, 1951 in Wanstead , London , United Kingdom ) is a British actress .

Life

childhood and education

Louise Jameson grew up in Woodford Green, Essex . Her father first worked as a cleaner in a paper mill. He then founded his own financial advisory firm. Years later, Jameson's brother, Russell, ran the institute. Jameson discovered her interest in acting through her mother, who was in the local amateur theater company. Jameson attended private school but left at the age of 15. Then she trained as a secretary. At the age of 17, James completed her acting training at the RADA ( Royal Academy of Dramatic Art ).

Career

From 1977 to 1978, Louise Jameson played her best-known role as Leela in Doctor Who . Producer John Nathan Turner offered her Leela to play another season in the series. However, since Jameson had been offered some Shakespeare roles, she declined. This was followed by appearances in EastEnders, the Disney film Stick with Me, Kid and many other films and series. From 1994 to 1996 Jameson starred in four PROBE films alongside Caroline John .

Louise Jameson is also a stage actress. She was seen alongside Alan Armstrong at the Royal National Theater in London in the play Death Of A Salesman .

Private life

Louise Jameson has two sons with her ex-husband Martin Bedford. She lives in Tunbridge Wells , Kent .
