Louisette Hautecoeur (born May 23, 1914 in Sevran , † March 19, 2004 in Chaumont-en-Vexin , France ) was a French editor .

Live and act

Louisette Hautecoeur came to film shortly after her school days and learned the craft of film editing in the early years of sound film. Just 20 years old, she made her debut at Jean Pouzet's side in René Clair's satire The Last Billionaire - anonymous . Working alongside her more experienced colleague Mark Sorkin, from 1936 until the beginning of the Second World War she was responsible for editing other films, mainly productions by the German-Austrian director exile GW Pabst . Since the turn of the year 1939/40, Hautecoeur was mostly solely responsible for the final versions of the films.

In her more than four decades of work, Louisette Hautecoeur worked with the leading directors in her country, including initially (during the war) mainly with Jean Boyer . This was followed by collaborations with Jean Delannoy , Marcel L'Herbier , Jean Grémillon , Abel Gance , Pierre Gaspard-Huit , Robert Siodmak , Henri Verneuil , Luis Buñuel , Robert Hossein , Marcel Ophüls and again with Clair (also on his last film The Fortress Falls , Love Lives , 1965). Hautecoeur's oeuvre includes works as diverse as the last two Lilian Harvey films Serenade and Miquette , the late work of Poetic Realism created under the German occupation in 1942 , Wetterlight , the splendid Clair picture arches from the early post-war period, The Beauties of the Night and The Great Maneuver, as well as the three critically acclaimed Bunuel productions made in France in the 1960s, Diary of a Chambermaid , Belle de Jour - Beauty of the Day and The Milky Way .

She ended her career in 1976 with a soft sex erotic named Emanuela 77 . Louisette Hautecoeur, who was awarded the special prize at the Locarno Film Festival in 1949 for her work on the flick Deadly Passion , had been married to her professional colleague Henri Taverna (1903–1987) since 1944 .
