Loukas Vyntra ( Greek Λουκάς Βύντρα , born February 5, 1981 in Město Albrechtice , Czechoslovakia as Lukáš Vydra ) is a Greek football player of Czech origin.

Career

society

The son of a Czech and a Greek woman began his professional career in 1999 in the Peloponnese with the Paniliakos club based in Pyrgos . After a short interlude for the 2000/01 season at the then third division club Pontii Verias, Vyntra moved to Panathinaikos Athens in January 2004 , with whom he won the Greek championship and the cup in the first year .

Vyntra, who was only seen as a supplementary player when he signed up, benefited in summer 2004 from the departure of the previously undisputed Georgios Seitaridis , who had become European champion in Portugal just a few weeks earlier . While Vyntra was only set up in the position of the central defender until then , he played from then on as a right defender and has been an integral part of Panathinaikos' team ever since. In the 2012/13 season Vyntra was the captain of his team. Since January 2013 he has been playing for the Spanish first division club UD Levante .

National team

In addition to a regular place at Panathinaikos, Vyntra played in the circle of the Greek national team and took part in the Confederations Cup 2005 , where he was used twice. In 2004 Vyntra took part in the Olympic Games in Athens . Vyntra was also part of the Greek squad for the 2008 European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland , where he played in the last group game against Spain .
