Dame Laura Jane Davies DBE (born May 10, 1963 in Coventry , England ) is an English proette ( professional golfer ) who plays on both the North American LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour . She is the most famous British golfer today.

By the beginning of the 2006 season, Davies had 20 official victories on the LPGA Tour . She won the money list in 1994 and was second for the following two years. At the same time, Davies collected another 40 tournament victories on the Ladies European Tour and led the rankings in 1985, 1986, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2006. Davies is also the only - this applies to both Europe and the USA - player who was represented in all ten Solheim Cup teams to date (1990-2007).
