Patty Sheehan (born October 27, 1956 in Middlebury , Vermont ) is an American professional golfer .

After graduating from school, Sheehan studied at the University of Nevada at Reno and at San José State University . Sheehan started a sporting career as a golfer. In 1980 she became a participant in the LPGA Tour . She won 35 events on that tour, including six majors. Sheehan was a member of the US women's golf team in four Solheim Cup tournaments and team captain in 2002 and 2003.

Sheehan is an openly lesbian. She and her partner Rebecca Gaston adopted two children together.
