Feng Shanshan (born August 5, 1989 in Guangzhou ) is a Chinese professional golfer .

biography

Feng Shanshan started playing golf at the age of ten. Because of limited financial means, she was trained by her father, who picked himself up from school every day to take her to the golf course.

At the age of 17, she accepted an offer from Gary Gilchrist for a scholarship to his junior golf academy on Hilton Head Island , South Carolina . Feng took part in the qualification for the LPGA Tour in 2007 and secured a starting place for 2008.

Feng has had 10 wins on the tour so far and won her only major title in 2012.

She won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . From November 2017 to April 2018 she was the world's number one .
