history

Finds prove a prehistoric settlement. Already 1000 BC A fortified settlement of the Castro culture existed here . The present place was created in the course of the settlement policy during the Reconquista . The many watercourses and the strategic location were probably the main reasons for the repopulation of the place at the beginning of the 13th century AD.
