The Loutre Noire has its source in the municipality of Réchicourt-la-Petite , generally drains in a north-westerly direction and flows into the Seille as a left tributary after 18 kilometers opposite Pettoncourt , but in the municipality of Moncel-sur- Seille . At its mouth it meets the neighboring Moselle department .
