Love Wedding Repeat is a 2020 British - Italian romantic comedy directed by Dean Craig . It is a remake of the 2012 French film Plan de table .

Jack visits his sister Hayley, who lives in Italy, for a weekend and spends a lot of time with her lovely friend Dina. When, shortly before the return flight, he gathers all the courage to initiate a little kiss goodbye, a long-forgotten roommate from his student days bursts in and forces him to get a ride to the airport. An off-voice comments in drastic terms that even the smallest stupid coincidence can destroy even the greatest love.
Three years later he is at his sister's wedding to the Italian Roberto. There he learns that Dina is also there and has just separated from her boyfriend. At the party are his ex-girlfriend Amanda with her new boyfriend Chaz, Bryan, prospective actor and best man, the somewhat uptight Sidney and Rebecca, who has secretly kept an eye on Bryan. You are the occupation of the English table.
The wedding escalates when Marc, a former schoolmate, shows up at the party, completely high, and admits his love to Hayley. Since Hayley is unable to get rid of him, she asks Jack to put knockout drops in his glass. After some reluctance, he does it to love his sister. But the children mix up the place cards.
The network of relationships is changing with the new seating arrangement. And so Jack manages to talk to Dina only with great effort. At the same time, the KO drops caught Bryan, who actually wanted to convince the director Vitelli of himself. Jack doesn't manage to get Marc out of the party. In fact, he learns that Marc only slept with Hayley a few days ago.
After the best man's speech, which ends with the best man completely insulting the director and taking a piece of the wedding cake with his hands, Marc goes to the microphone and reveals Hayley's affair. When Roberto confronts her, she accidentally pushes him down a bridge. In the middle of the case the film freezes and further possible outcomes are presented, depending on how the children distributed the seating cards.
In the last version, it is Jack himself who gets the knockout drops. So he screwed up his flirting with Dina and found it very difficult to keep awake. But Bryan manages to get together with Rebecca on the one hand and exhilarated from the first kisses he gives an amazing groomsmen speech, which not only convinces director Vitelli, but also prevents Marc from sharing his affair with the bride. At the end, Dina and Jack also get closer.

The film is based on the French film Plan de Table by Christelle Raynal, based on a screenplay by her with Francis Nief in 2012. It is the directorial debut of screenwriter Dean Craig, who became known for the screenplay to Die for Beginners . The British-Italian production was filmed in Rome from May 6, 2019 . The film, which was slightly influenced by Groundhog Day , was released on April 10, 2020 via the streaming service t Netflix , which acquired the exclusive rights to the film.
