Lovelock is a city in the US state of Nevada . It is located in Pershing County and is its county seat . At the census in 2000 , the place had 2003 inhabitants. Lovelock was at the center of the Humboldt Project .

The city is located in western Nevada on the banks of the Humboldt River .

Demographics
At the time of the 2000 United States Census, 2003 people lived in the city. The population density was 888.9 people per km ². There were 951 housing units at an average of 422 per km². The Lovelock population was 76.49% White , 0.80% Black or African American, 7.14% Native American, 0.70% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 10.03% said others Belonging to races and 4.64% named two or more races. 24.21% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
