Lubiechów Górny (German Hohenlübbichow ) is a village in Poland in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship , Powiat Gryfiński , Cedynia municipality with about 245 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Lubiechów Górny (Hohenlübbichow) lies between the westernmost village of Poland Cedynia (Zehden) and the Peetziger forest area (Puszcza Piaskowa) on the back of a ground moraine. The neighboring town below is Niederlübbichow (Lubiechów Dolny).

history

Hohenlübbichow was mentioned as early as 1267. The stone church also dates from the 2nd half of the 13th century. The checkerboard visible on the portal has a diamond pattern , is several centimeters deep behind a reveal step and has been moved into the masonry. It is therefore considered to be of the construction time. Stones with a diamond pattern are also known in the Uckermark of Blumberg, Chorin Monastery, Dobberzin, Friedersdorf, Oderberg-Neuendorf and Serwest. The tower was added in 1880.

In 1472 the von Schöning family owned the village. The von der Marwitz family and others (von Zychlinski, von Langen) followed in 1672. In 1821 the Secret Commerce Councilor Endel came from Frankfurt (Oder) to Hohenlübbichow. Peter Joseph Lenné designed a small park during this time. The estate later came into the possession of the von Keudell family . The diplomat Robert von Keudell lived in Hohenlübbichow at the end of the 19th century. His second wife, Alexandra von Grünhof, moved to Hohenlübbichow as a widow in 1906 and took over the management of the estate. The politician and forester Walter von Keudell allowed the Bellinchen nature reserve (now Rezerwat Bielinek ) , founded on November 19, 1927, on his manor. In 1936, Walter von Keudell, as State Secretary and General Forester, published 34 years of Hohenlübbichower Waldwirtschaft nationwide, in which he describes the development, condition and goals of his forest management in the Hohenlübbichower Forest. In 1945 Hohenlübbichow came under Polish administration and is now called Lubiechów Górny a district of the Cedynia community.

The place today

Despite a few new family houses, Lubiechów Górny still has the character of an old Brandenburg manor village with a manor house and large old farm buildings.
