Luc Barthassat (born September 3, 1960 in Bardonnex ) is a Swiss politician ( MCG , ex- CVP ).

biography

Barthassat was a full-time farmer and winemaker . From October 1993 to October 2005 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva for the CVP . On May 30, 2005, he succeeded Jean-Philippe Maitre, who had resigned, to the National Council and was confirmed in the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2007 and 2011 . He sat in the commissions for transport and telecommunications and the security commissions .

On November 27, 2013, Barthassat was elected to the Geneva cantonal government , the State Council. Guillaume Barazzone replaced him in the National Council . In 2018 he was voted out of office as Council of State by a considerable margin. In 2019, Barthassat moved to the Mouvement citoyens genevois . He ran in March 2020 as their candidate for the five-member Geneva city government and reached eleventh place in the first ballot.

Luc Barthassat is single and has two children.
