Lucas Liu Hsien-tang

Lucas Liu Hsien-tang ( Chinese  劉獻堂 Liú Xiàntáng ; born December 21, 1928 in Tung Shung Tan ) is former bishop of Hsinchu .

Life

Lucas Liu Hsien-tang was ordained a priest on November 30, 1956 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Taipei . John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Hsinchu on October 24, 1980 .

The bishop of Hsinchu, Petrus Pao-Zin Tou , donated him episcopal ordination on January 1st of the next year ; Co-consecrators were Paul Ch'eng Shih-kuang , Bishop of Tainan , and Joseph Wang Yu-jung , Auxiliary Bishop in Taipei .

After the resignation of Petrus Pao-Zin Tou , he succeeded him on June 29, 1983 as Bishop of Hsinchu. On December 4, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
