Lucas Sang

Lucas Sang (born February 12, 1961 , † January 1, 2008 in Eldoret ) was a Kenyan athlete .

Life

Sang took part in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul . In the 400-meter run , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals in 45.72 seconds. With the 4 x 400 meter relay he reached the finals and finished eighth there in 3: 04.69 minutes. Then he set the pace for 800 meter runs . After the end of his sporting career, he became a farmer. Until his death he was treasurer of the National Association of Kenyan Olympiads (NAKO). His competition weight was 72 kg with a height of 1.88 m.

He was murdered on January 1, 2008 during violent rioting in Kenya following the presidential election.
