Lucifer Star Machine is a punk 'n' roll band from Hamburg . The band describes their musical style as "high-octane rock 'n' roll", which is influenced by punk , rock 'n' roll and hard rock . Motörhead , Misfits , Ramones and Turbonegro are named as musical references .

history

The quintet was founded in the English capital London in 2002 and has toured Europe several times since then. Lucifer Star Machine's first single Death Baby was released in 2004 and was produced by Rat Scabies , the original drummer and founding member of the punk band The Damned . After two albums on various independent labels , her third album, Rock'n'Roll Martyrs, was released in 2013 by the German record company I Sold My Soul Media. The record was nominated for album of the year by the renowned Music Producers Guild in England. The album's producer, Andy Brook, was also nominated in several categories, including “UK Producer of the Year”. Official music videos were made by the London-based creative agency GVFilm for the album tracks Dead And Gone, Sulfur & Speed and Death or Jail .

In 2012, founder and band leader Tor Abyss returned to his homeland in Germany. Two years later he broke up the band, which was still based in London, in order to venture a fresh start in his new hometown of Hamburg.

Lucifer Star Machine was reorganized in Hamburg in autumn 2014, with an all-German cast for the first time., The first release with the new combo was the single Eat Dust on December 12, 2015 by the German record company Wolverine Records as a 7-inch record and download . The accompanying music video was directed by Dirk Behlau of Beastwood Films, known for his work with Sick of It All , Meteors , Leningrad Cowboys , The Creepshow and V8 Wankers .

Another 7-inch vinyl single called Your Love Remains was released by the American label Self Destructo Records in the summer of 2016. The B-side features a cover version of the track Breakdown , by the American punk rock / melodic hardcore band Youth Brigade . A music video was also made for Your Love Remains . The London creative agency GVFilm was hired again. This time the location was Hamburg. Stylistically and in terms of film technology, they leaned on Grindhouse productions of the 70s and 80s.

At the same time, Self Destructo Records released the album Rock'n'Roll Martyrs again as an extended version with two bonus tracks for download.

In 2018, the Canadian record company Gods Candy Records released the EP Evil Blood as a 10-inch lathe cut picture disc. This was limited to 50 pieces and intended for promotional purposes. The EP was supposed to be released by Gods Candy on Halloween 2018 as a 7-inch record, but that didn't happen. There was no comment from the record company.

The group played at Wacken Open Air in 2019 , where groups like Body Count, Slayer, Rose Tattoo and Airbourne were also on the cast list.

In December 2019, the band signed a recording deal with Swedish record company The Sign Records, which released the band's fourth album, The Devil's Breath , worldwide on April 3, 2020. The record was released digitally, as a digipak CD, vinyl in three different colors and as a limited deluxe version with gatefold cover and splatter vinyl.
