Life

Hinse is one of four children of a miners' family in Recklinghausen. After eight years of elementary school, he began and completed (1962–1964) an apprenticeship as a postman at the Deutsche Bundespost . Here he was also chairman of the youth council . He quit his civil service career in 1967 in order to prepare for the special examination for talented students , with which he acquired the right to study.

He then studied social work in Bochum from 1968 to 1972 . From 1968 to 1970 he was AStA chairman and SDS member. His thesis was on the methodology and didactics of extracurricular education using the example of working youth. During a teaching assignment, he taught methodology and didactics at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences . From 1972 to 1974 he did educational work at the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) and from 1974 educational work at IG Metall in Bochum.

In 1984 Hinse became the youngest chairman of IG Metall in Bochum; he held this office for 22 years - until 2006. In 2000, together with Guntram Schneider, he attracted attention through a thesis paper on changes to IG Metall in the Frankfurter Rundschau .

The director of the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, Anneliese Schröder, and the director of the Kunstmuseum Bochum , Peter Spielmann, showed interest in Hinse's artistic studio work and supported his development. He had his first public exhibition in 1988 at Kenkmannshof, Recklinghausen.

From 2007 to 2009 he carried out the major project The Cross with the Cross . He organized 77 exhibitions in 21 cities with over 140,000 visitors. On the occasion of the European Capital of Culture 2010 , he erected the large sculpture Tradition is not ...

Hinse started a political action in the Catholic St. Johanneskirche in Tübingen on March 1, 2017. The cross in the chancel was hung with a cloth, on which an Arabic character could be read. This symbol stands for: Nazarenes . The characters are painted by the fighters of the Islamic State on the doors of Christians who are to be terrorized or murdered from now on. Hinse: "Every five minutes a Christian is killed for his faith. But where is the outcry of the world?"
