Ludmila Budar

Ludmila Budar ( Upper Sorbian Ludmila Budarjowa ; born April 7, 1949 in Ostro ) is a Sorbian Slavist , Sorabist , Russian and educator , as well as chairwoman of the Sorbian School Association .

Life

Ludmila Budar was born in 1949. She graduated from high school in 1967 and studied Slavic , Sorabic , Russian and pedagogical studies in Leipzig and Voronezh from 1967 to 1971 . After graduating, she worked as a teacher in Göda ( Hodźij ) ( 1971–74 ). During the fall of 1989/90, Ludmila Budar was involved in the initiative group for a Sorbian People's Assembly , which advocated a thorough restructuring and democratization of the Sorbian institutions as well as personnel and structural changes in the Domowina . From 1990 she was deputy managing director and department head of Domowina Verlag and from 1995 to 2003 its managing director. From 2004 until she retired in 2012, she worked as a research assistant in the Linguistics department of the Sorbian Institute and dealt with the topics " Bilingualism ", "History of the Sorbian school system after 1989" and "Learning objectives for the Sorbian language compared to German language"..

Since 1991 she has been chairwoman of the Sorbian School Association (Serbske šulske towarstwo zt) .

On May 26, 2001 she was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by Landtag President Erich Iltgen .
