Ludmila Radkowa-Traikowa was born on August 23, 1968 in the north of Bulgaria , in the city of Levski. From an early age, Ludmila and her sister Daniela were surrounded by the magical atmosphere of folk art. First and foremost in the family: the mother worked with folklore, theater and choral arts in the community center, the father was known as a singer and dancer. All childhood, according to Ludmila, passed with songs. From the age of three she attended rehearsals and performances in the community center, later she learned vocal and musicology. These efforts were for her in preparation for the National School of Folklore Arts Philip Koutev in Kotel , where the competition was 100 applicants for ten places. Ludmila got the first place.

In a very short time Ludmila Radkova became a soloist of almost all important singing roles. She devoted herself to this collective for 15 years, but had to leave the ensemble for weddings and funerals due to an intensive tour schedule (around 100 concerts per year) with Goran Bregović and his orchestra .

The acquaintance with Goran Bregović arose in May 1995 in the Balkanton studio while recording the music for the film Underground by Emir Kusturica . Kusturica proposed to listen to the soloists of the Philip Koutev ensemble . Goran Bregović was impressed by their voices and their talent for improvisation. A month later, the siblings were invited to the first tour of the Goran Bregović orchestra, but Ludmila, who had recently become a mother, only joined the tour five months later.
