Ludwig Biber (born April 25, 1873 in Vienna , † March 31, 1959 in Hinterbrühl ) was an Austrian architect and politician ( CS ). Between 1932 and 1934 he was a city councilor without a department in Vienna. Biber was married and had one daughter.

education and profession

Biber was born into a middle-class Viennese family; his ancestors had been carpenters since 1750. After Biber graduated from secondary school, he studied at the special school for architecture of the Academy of Fine Arts under Karl von Hasenauer . From 1896 he owned a steam saw and the Ludwig Biber carpentry. He made a name for himself in the technical field by patenting a new arched roof construction. Biber became an engineer, kk court carpenter and was awarded the title of commercial councilor in 1912 . He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry in Vienna and was elected President by the Reich Association of Carpenters in Austria. Biber was also a member of the Austrian and the German Werkbund .

Biber served in World War I when he achieved the rank of captain .

politics

Ludwig Biber was elected to the Vienna City Council in 1914, to which he was a member until 1934. After Karl Rummelhardt's death in October 1930, Biber was appointed to the Seitz II city senate , of which he was a member until 1932. However, like the rest of his party colleagues in the city senate, Biber remained without departmental responsibility.
