Ludwig Cerutti

Friedrich Peter Ludwig Johann Cerutti (born August 24, 1789 in Zeitz , † July 26, 1858 in Leipzig ) was a German doctor and university professor .

Life

Cerutti's early education is unknown. He went to the University of Leipzig to study medicine . There he gained in 1814 with the dissertation De Telluris in organismum de animalem actione the promotion of Dr. med. He then entered the clinical institute of Friedrich August Benjamin Puchelt in Leipzig. In 1817 he founded his own children's clinic, which a few years later was incorporated into the general clinic.

Cerutti received a call in 1827 as associate professor of pathological anatomy. In 1839 he was promoted to full professor . He was director of the clinic until 1852. Strokes eventually forced him to step down from office.
