Ludwig Dörnke

Ludwig Dörnke (born March 9, 1865 in Hanover ; † August 30, 1942 there ) was a German printer and social democratic functionary .

Life

Ludwig Dörnke was the son of a blacksmith and completed an apprenticeship as a printer. From 1895 to 1905 he was the owner of his own print shop in Hanover for ten years, before heading the book printing shop at Verlag des Volkswille as managing director until 1930 .

Shortly after acquiring his printing company, Dörnke was elected chairman of the district organization of the SPD Linden in 1896 . He held this office until 1921.

At the same time, Ludwig Dörnke sat at the beginning of the Weimar Republic as an elected member from 1919 to 1920 in the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly .
