Ludwig Diehl (Author)

Ludwig Diehl (born August 4, 1866 in Pirmasens , † March 31, 1947 in Stuttgart ) was a German writer .

Life

After completing elementary school at the Pirmasens Latin School , Ludwig Diehl attended grammar school in Zweibrücken (today's Herzog-Wolfgang grammar school ) and the Karls grammar school in Stuttgart . He started an officer career in the Württemberg Army . From 1887 he was stationed in Ludwigsburg and from 1900 in Weingarten . As early as the 1990s , he devoted himself to writing literary texts. Diehl took part in the First World War as a battalion leader and most recently had the rank of colonel . After the war he lived as a writer in Stuttgart .

Ludwig Diehl's literary work includes novels , short stories , plays and travelogues . He achieved his greatest success with the novel "Suso", which is about the life of the medieval mystic Heinrich Seuse .
