Ludwig Höchsmann

Richard Ludwig Höchsmann , (since 1872) Knight von Hannathal (born August 22, 1802 in Olmütz , † November 2, 1881 in Baden near Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer , university professor and politician .

Life

Höchsmann studied philosophy and law in Olomouc until 1824 , then in Vienna until 1825 and received his doctorate in 1828 at the University of Vienna . From 1833 to 1849 he was professor of commercial science and commercial and exchange law at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna . From 1833 he also taught commercial geography and history at secondary schools in Vienna. He was a co-founder of the General Mutual Capital and Pension Insurance Institution in Vienna and since 1853 its president. From 1849 to 1859 he was a section councilor, most recently Ministerialrat in the Austrian Ministry of Trade and Public Works .

From May 31, 1848 to April 13, 1849 he was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for Olomouc ( Moravia ) in Sternberg in the Casino fraction . From 1861 to 1864 he was a councilor in Vienna.
