Ludwig Haase (born October 25, 1868 , † March 7, 1944 ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Live and act

The son of the painter Ludwig Haase (1827–1907) lived and worked in Linz .

At the beginning of the 1920s, he designed the motifs for the emergency banknotes of numerous Upper Austrian communities (e.g. Danube Valley, Baumgarten , Pöndorf , Pucking , Ruprechtshofen , Schleißheim , Ungenach ). With 43 drafts, he was the most sought-after emergency money designer, followed by Klemens Brosch , Wilhelm Dachauer and Max Kislinger , each with around a dozen templates.

In 1936 he created a replica of the Linz main square on canvas in the basement of the Linz Grotto Railway .
