Live and act

Kislinger graduated from the secondary school in Linz in 1914 . For economic reasons, he could not attend an art academy , which is why, in addition to his professional activity as a civil servant of the Upper Austrian provincial government, he attended Matthias May's art school from 1919 and evening courses with Paul Ikrath from 1922 and completed his professional training as a guest student with the ceramist Luise Spanring in Salzburg . He became internationally known for his bookplate -Kunst, where he in the yearbook for bookplates and commercial art of Hans Ankwicz-Kleehoven 1931 and Richard Kurt Donin was recognized 1939th

Kislinger is a typical representative of Austrian art of the interwar period with references to the Wiener Werkstätte , to the beginnings of Franz von Zülow . He was one of the founders of the home painters' guild from which the Grille artists' association later emerged and was a member of the Innviertel artists' guild . His techniques were colored stone drawing , watercolor , drawing with ink and pen , tempera , woodcut and ceramics .

He went in 1939 as an official in board and was able to devote more of his artistic work from then on, that often was related to his interest in folklore. His three publications in this regard were classified by Otto Wutzel as standard folklore works and document the importance of Kislinger for Upper Austrian folklore.
