Ruprechtshofen is a cadastral municipality in the market town of Naarn in Machlande in the Perg district in Upper Austria .

Ruprechtshofen was an independent local community from 1850 to 1937 and borders in the south on the Danube , which in this area forms the border of both the Perg district and the province of Upper Austria.

A large part of the largely uninhabited riparian forests is located south of the Machland dam . In the 1990s and 2000s, the residents affected by the annual Danube floods and occasional flood disasters were gradually evacuated and the residential and commercial buildings there were destroyed.

history

The earliest written testimony is from 1209 and reads "Rüpendeteshouen". The name goes back to the old man's name Ruodpendet .

Localities, inhabitants

The cadastral community, located in the south-eastern part of the market town of Naarn in the Machlande, has 286 inhabitants (according to the 2001 census), divided into the four villages of Ruprechtshofen (107 inhabitants), Staffling (92 inhabitants), Starzing (46 inhabitants) and Straß (41 inhabitants) to distribute. Ruprechtshofen

In Ruprechtshofen there were 8 houses in 1335 and 13 in 1791. In 1869 there were 105 inhabitants in 17 houses, in 1951 in 18 houses with 87 people, in 1961 in 18 houses with 95 people, in 1971 in 18 houses with 107 people, in 1981 in 19 houses with 95 people, in 1991 in 20 houses with 88 people and in 2001 in 22 houses with 107 people.

Staffling

In Staffling there were 18 houses in 1788 and 20 houses in 1791. In 1869 130 people lived in 21 houses, in 1951 in 21 houses with 121 people, in 1961 in 22 houses with 109 people, in 1971 in 21 houses with 114 people, in 1981 in 23 houses with 105 people, in 1991 in 27 houses with 106 people and in 2001 in 28 houses with 92 people.

Limits

Ruprechtshofen borders on the cadastral communities Baumgarten and Naarn of the market community Naarn in the Machlande (north and northwest). The cadastral municipality of Au is only touched in the extreme western corner on the banks of the Danube. Ruprechtshofen also borders on the cadastral municipality of Langacker in the market town of Mitterkirchen in Machland (east and southeast). In the south, the Danube forms the border with the Lower Austrian municipalities of Strengberg and Sankt Pantaleon-Erla in the Amstetten district .

Waters

The Aist-Mühlbach traversed from Au on the Danube or Naarn coming which Katastralgemeinde Ruprechtshofen approximately parallel to the Danube, and then flows to the long field to the mouth in the Hüttinger Altarm . The flood basin built together with the Machland dam across the cadastral community is simulated as a tributary of the Danube.

The cadastral community is developed exclusively by municipal roads and agricultural goods roads, with the L 570 road leading past the northern border of Ruprechtshofen in a south-easterly direction. The state road L570 branches off from the Donau Straße (B 3) in Haid in Mauthausen , continues via Au, Naarn, Baumgarten, Schönau to Mitterkirchen im Machland and joins the B 3 again in Baumgartenberg.

Emergency money

At the beginning of the 1920s, the municipality of Ruprechtshofen, like many others, issued emergency money. On the 20 Hellerschein there was a place on the Danube, in the foreground a tool with workers, all with the note Danube power plant Wallsee. On the 30 Hellerschein a meadow landscape with fishermen and on the 50 Hellerschein the farm “Farmer in Tabor” could be seen. In addition to the standard texts, the back of the banknotes contained various sayings.
