Limits

Baumgarten borders on the cadastral communities of Naarn (west) and Ruprechtshofen (south and southeast) of the market town of Naarn in the Machlande, the cadastral community of Langacker of the market town of Mitterkirchen in Machland (east) and the cadastral communities of Perg and Pergkirchen of the town of Perg (north).

Waters

The Naarn crosses the cadastral community in the northeast, coming from the cadastral community of Perg for a distance of about 1.5 kilometers and then reaches the cadastral community of Langacker. In addition, the Naarn forms the common border with the cadastral municipality of Perg over a length of about 800 meters. The part of the municipality bordered by the Naarn was repeatedly affected by floods in the past. The municipality of Naarn therefore contributed to the costs of Naarn regulation in the 1960s.

Height information

Within the cadastral community, heights for Loa ( 239  m above sea level ), Neuhof (241), In der Au (241) and In der Haid bei Naarnufer (240) are noted on the map .

traffic

The cadastral community of Baumgarten is crossed by the L 570 state road, which branches off the Donau Straße (B 3) in Haid in Mauthausen , continues via Au, Naarn, Baumgarten, Schönau to Mitterkirchen im Machland and joins the B 3 again in Baumgartenberg. In addition, the municipal area is developed through municipal roads and agricultural goods roads.

Emergency money

At the beginning of the 1920s, the municipality of Baumgarten bei Perg, like many others, issued emergency money. The banknotes designed by the Linz painter Ludwig Haase show motifs from country life (farm, traditional costume, farmer mowing with an old mower). On the front of the 50-Heller note, the Birerbauer Hof is shown with a 1000-year-old linden tree.

Volunteer firefighter

The Baumgarten and Ruprechtshofen volunteer fire brigade was founded in the first quarter of 1925. The newly acquired fire brigade syringe was blessed on April 13, 1925 in front of the Maria Laab pilgrimage church and placed in the fire station in Holzleiten. In 1938 it was merged with the Naarn volunteer fire brigade.

In 1946 the Baumgarten and Ruprechtshofen volunteer fire brigade was reestablished and renamed the Holzleiten volunteer fire brigade in Machlande in 1957 . The equipment was gradually adapted to the requirements. The construction of the fire station was completed in 1952. Its renovations took place in 1978 and 1993.

Competition groups from the Holzleiten volunteer fire brigade have been successful several times in state, federal and international fire brigade competitions.
