Laab

KG: Naarn
Due to the remains of Gothic walls, it is concluded that the church was built at the end of the 15th century. The miraculous image, the sculpture "Maria Krönung" on the high altar, which comes from a successor workshop in Kefermarkt, also comes from that time. It was an important place of pilgrimage until the prohibition of pilgrimage by Emperor Joseph II . The pilgrimage from Bohemia to Maria Zell led via Laab and the pilgrims found space in the village to stop and spend the night. The church was completely renovated in 1980/81 and serves as a wedding church.

The Michaelskirche in Naarn is one of the oldest in the Mühlviertel. It was built in the Romanesque style in 1070 instead of an older church building. The bricked-up Romanesque windows and arched doors can be seen in the masonry made of hewn granite blocks. The buttresses on the outside of the church come from the Gothic renovation in the middle of the 15th century, when the tower was also built. After a lightning strike in 1857, the top of the tower with the pointed helmet got its current appearance. The oldest bell was cast in Budweis in 1541. The church was last thoroughly renovated in 1971 and 1990/91. In 1999 the church received a new organ from the organ builder Verschueren from Holland.
