Construction of the late Gothic parish church began in 1324 and was probably completed in 1490. It is dedicated to Saint Vitus. From 1399 to 1451 the parish was incorporated into the Waldhausen Abbey, after which it was given to the sovereign. The patronage exercised the rule of Saxe Coburg-Gotha from 1451 to 1968. Since then, Bad Kreuzen has been a parish free episcopal lending. The outer walls of the church are supported by mighty buttresses. The large pointed arch windows on the south side ensure sufficient light inside. The tower, which was raised in the baroque era, was given a pointed helmet in modern times. The two-aisled church hall is roofed by an elegant star vault resting on two pillars.
