Only remnants of the curtain wall and some bricked parts of the stronghold are present. The stronghold was built a little below the plateau with the Bronze Age ramparts on a 20 × 15 meter large rock protruding from the surrounding area and enclosed by a square circular wall with internal battlements.

The castle consists of two opposite, elongated wings, which are connected in the middle by a transverse wing. On the connecting central tract there is a gate with a turret with an onion helmet that was removed after a fire. The middle wing forms two courtyards, each closed with a wall.

A Bronze Age depot was found on the summit of the Luftenberg in 1890. The hilltop is comprehensively reinforced by a plateau rampart. The ring wall had a palisade on the crown.
