Ludwig Haase

Ludwig Haase (also: Hase) the Elder (born April 30, 1827 in Lambach ; † March 29, 1907 in Linz ) was an Austrian painter .

Live and act

Ludwig Haase learned the painting trade in Gmunden and came to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in the 1840s , where he was a student of Karl von Blaas , Joseph von Führich and Leopold Kupelwieser . In 1848 he had to return to Lambach at the behest of his father. From 1867 he worked as a history painter in Urfahr and from 1871 to 1878 was also a teacher at the arts and crafts drawing school of the Association of Visual Artists in Linz. The drawing estate is in the Linz City Museum . His son of the same name (born October 25, 1868, † March 7, 1944) worked as a painter and graphic artist in Linz .
